St. Michael vs Ash Fork

Saint Michael's volleyball teams served up a great deal of excitement as they started the 2007 season at home against Ash Fork. The JV Cardinals scored a runaway 25-9 victory in their first game, but the Lady Spartans came back to score twin victories (25-23, 25-18) to carry the first match.

Although the varsity ladies swept the competition by winning three games straight, two of the three games in Friday's varsity match were close contests (28-26, 25-18, 26-24).

The JV teams then returned to the floor to play a second match, which the Cardinals won handily in two (25-18, 25-18).

At the conclusion of the first day of play, the JV match record stood at 1-1, while the varsity climbed to the top with a 1-0 record.
